Fujitsu bucks the trend in the UK server market as PRIMERGY revenues grow by 175% and unit sales by 148%*

Fujitsu UK & Ireland

London, March 12, 2013

Fujitsu has bucked the trend in the UK server market, growing its server sales by 175% in value terms year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2012, in a market that declined by 1.1%, according to figures just released by Gartner*.

Fujitsu’s success is the result of continued investment in technology, alongside attractive bundles, offers and incentives, says Craig Parker, head of product marketing at Fujitsu UK & Ireland’s Technology Product Group:

“Our investment in server technology is paying off. We are growing PRIMERGY server sales and revenues at a time when just about every other vendor is going backwards. The reason for this is simple – more end-users are putting Fujitsu first because they know it will deliver the very best reliability, performance and ROI.”

Parker also noted that the Fujitsu’s award-winning infrastructure solutions, built on PRIMERGY servers, are helping to fuel the growth. VMware recently awarded Fujitsu the “Most Innovative Solution of the Year 2012” for its Private Cloud solution.

Separately, Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation announced Fujitsu achieved an energy efficiency hat-trick, with world-record results in mono-, dual- and quad-socket servers, highlighting their superior performance and quality.

The company’s market share of the UK server market is now 4.7% and Parker expects this to have grown again when figures for the first calendar quarter of 2013 are released.
