The FMV-BIBLO LOOX mobile computer was released in 2000 as a personal computer which enabled easy use of the Internet anywhere and at any time. Functions for Internet connection were provided as a standard configuration of the main unit, and its ability to connect to the Internet without being restricted to specific places or network environments was at the time a revolutionary feature. In pursuit of high portability, it used a low power consumption CPU (Crusoe) allowing it to be operated for extended periods (up to 4 hours with standard specifications) and was lightweight (starting from 980 g) as well as compact with an A5 size (243 mm (W) x 151 mm (D)).
