The smallest model in the FACOM230 series, introduced in 1965. The FACOM230-10 was designed with a strong focus on economy and ease of use, and was equipped with features to meet customer requirements for small-sized models. These included: (1) being provided with basic functions such as arithmetic operations, classification, file operations, and printing; (2) allowing easy conversion or connection to higher-level models; (3) can be handled by inexperienced people without a need for specialized training; and (4) having a low price (the 1-day rental fee for the smallest-scale system was roughly 10,000 yen). It was the first electronic computer from Fujitsu to exceed sales of 1,000 units during its first 5-plus years, and became a best-selling model in Japan.
