Fujitsu To Showcase PC and Mobile Phone Concept Designs at the Biennale Internationale Design 2006 Saint Étienne in France

Fujitsu Limited will participate in the Biennale Internationale Design 2006 Saint Étienne in France sponsored by La Cité du Design from November 22 until December 3. During this period, a number of events will be held in and around the city of Saint Étienne. Fujitsu will be exhibiting at the “Demain, c’est aujourd’hui,”concept design exhibition for corporations centered around the theme of present and future design.

The purpose of this exhibition is to give the general public a glimpse into how corporations envision future lifestyle innovations, the new designs they are creating, and how they arrive at these designs. Design concepts for products such as automobiles, digital appliances, IT equipment and home products will be exhibited by fifteen companies, primarily form Japan and France. Fujitsu will be showcasing its highly innovative designs by displaying personal IT equipments for the near future.

Overview of Fujitsu’s Exhibit

The Fujitsu booth will feature three personal IT products of the near future. Taking the consumer’s perspective on the form tomorrow’s IT-enabled world should take, Fujitsu imagines services that enable a rich and comfortable IT lifestyle and showcases its ideas about the hardware as well as the man-machine interface that will be used in that world.

Concept Design

- Ultra Mobile 2005:
The Ultra Mobile 2005 features a full-size keyboard on a body the size of a CD case. When folded, the keyboard provides an even simpler interface, making this device a truly mobile “any time, anywhere” concept PC.

- Fujitsu Future Mobile Phone:
This device features an innovative interface that enables users to select various functions simply by sliding their fingers. This mobile information terminal has four basic functions that can be quickly and directly operated with a single hand.

- Turn Table PC:
Optimized for enjoying music, this futuristic notebook PC provides a taste of entertainment options to come. The Turn Table PC retains the basic form of a notebook computer, while resembling a DJ’s turntable. This notebook’s simple interface makes it possible to arrange music via illuminated controls, even when the PC is not operating. The music arranging function is still accessible via the keyboard when the PC is turned on, with an interface similar to that of a LED touch sensor.
