News facts:
  • Fujitsu helps Andalusian Health Service consolidate and simplify its infrastructure management
  • Contract covers all data center IT and telecommunications infrastructures
  • Two-year contract extension worth 16 million Euros
Madrid, марта 30, 2017 – Fujitsu has extended its existing contract with the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) to provide data center support services for a further two years, until 2019. The contract covers the management of all IT and telecommunications infrastructures in SAS’ processing data centers, and helps SAS consolidate and simplify its IT infrastructure management.
The Andalusian Health Service is an administrative agency responsible for health promotion and protection, disease prevention, health care and rehabilitation in the region of Andalusia, Southern Spain. It runs 1,518 primary care centers and 31 hospitals throughout Andalusia and has a workforce of more than 90,000. In 2014, the SAS selected Fujitsu to carry out the consolidation of its existing IT and telecommunications services into one single 24x7 service, provided mainly on a pay-as-you-go basis.
The SAS selected Fujitsu based on the success of a 22-year partnership. Fujitsu has also been managing the Health Service’s centralized infrastructures since 2003 and during this time has co-created a transformation process that has evolved from providing technical support to a comprehensive, remotely managed service based on service level agreements and governed by ITIL best practices, international standards such as ISO 9000 and ISO 17799, as well as LEAN and risk management principles.
Jordi Recolons, Account Director at Fujitsu Spain, says: “Working for the SAS for such a long time means we have developed a thorough understanding of the Health Service’s needs and challenges. As a consequence, we have been able to develop a program for strategic transformation that covers more than 20 projects. Consolidating the IT and telecommunications infrastructure management in its data centers is one of them and we are pleased to continue to support the SAS in running an agile, cost-efficient and future-proof infrastructure.”
