LTE Product
About LTE
Long Term Evolution provides easy access to mobile broadband services, such as multimedia broadcasting, streaming music, video,
e-commerce, mobile banking, and high-speed mobile Internet access, whether indoors or on the move, anytime, anywhere in the
world.
The 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project), targeting a 10-year time frame, proposed the LTE technology to ensure competitiveness
for radio-access. LTE integrates OFDMA, SC-FDMA, MIMO, and other technologies to achieve advanced performance compared to
other radio-access systems.
The 3GPP identified several high-level requirements for LTE:
- Reduced cost per bit
- Increased service provisioning and more services at lower cost with better user experiences
- Flexibility for existing and new frequency bands
- Simplified architecture and open interfaces
- Reasonable terminal power consumption
The goal is to make LTE into a high-data-rate, low-latency, packet-optimized radio-access technology, that includes:
- Significantly increased peak data rates (e.g. 100 Mbps (downlink) and 50 Mbps (uplink))
- Significantly reduced network latency
- Scaleable bandwidth
- Support for inter-working with existing 3G systems and non-3GPP specified systems
- Reduced CAPEX and OPEX, including backhaul
- Cost-effective migration from Release 6 UTRA radio interface and architecture
- Reasonable system and terminal complexity, cost, and power consumption
- Efficient support of the various services, especially from the PS domain (e.g.VoIP, Presence)
Product Benefits

Fujitsu has developed top-class technologies in the baseband and amplifier areas. We also have rich experience in mobile wireless infrastructure products. And Fujitsu is a pioneer of the RRU concept and commercialization. Fujitsu's BroadOne LTE products with such expertise bring customers the distinct advantages.
Our customers can benefit from Fujitsu's world top-class high-efficient amplifier which reduces power consumption as well as minimizes the installation space of base station, and also benefit from the high quality and shared amplifier technology to reduce OPEX and have easier migration solution respectively.
Minimum CAPEX and OPEX
The following features of our LTE system enable easy, flexible installation and minimize the costs of LTE service introduction and operation:
- Ultra compact,minimum footprint,light-weight design
- Low power consumption with world-class, high-efficiency/high-performance power amplifier technology
- Advanced DPD (Digital Pre-Distortion) technology for high efficiency
- Low noise and maintenance-free design highlighted by a fan-less/airfilter-less architecture
- CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface)-based interface
- Field-proven high reliability
Smooth migration from 3G to LTE
Fujitsu's LTE solution supports a smooth migration to LTE service from existing mobile networks. It can also safely and cost-effectively coexist with existing mobile networks. For example, existing ancillary facilities including antenna, feeder, and power supplies can be used as-is, with minimal installation work or additional footprint to launch LTE services.

Fujitsu's Global LTE System
From the beginning, Fujitsu has developed our Global 3GPP-compliant LTE system for the global market. We gave, for example, live LTE demonstrations at CEATEC Japan 2008 and at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas. At the demonstrations, our 4x4 MIMO technology's 250Mbps-plus performance attracted avid attention from world-class operators.
