Fujitsu and IDS Scheer See Growing Global Demand for Expanded Business Process Lifecycle Management Solution
Joint Offering to be Demonstrated at ProcessWorld 2006 in Miami, Florida
Sunnyvale, CA and Berwyn, PA, Feburary 13, 2006- Fujitsu Software Corporation and IDS Scheer today announced growing worldwide demand for their expanded, collaborative business process lifecycle management solution. The joint offering combines Fujitsu's Interstage® Business Process Manager with IDS Scheer's ARIS Business Architect™ for business process design and ARIS Process Performance Manager™ (ARIS PPM) for business process monitoring and analytics. The integrated Fujitsu-IDS Scheer solution will be showcased during ProcessWorld on February 14, 2006 in Miami, Florida.
Key customers and partners that benefit from the Fujitsu-IDS Scheer partnership include Fortis (Canada), General Dynamics (US), Ministerio de Administraciones Publicas (Spain), NBC Universal (US), and Software AG (Germany). The combined Fujitsu-IDS Scheer offering is the result of a joint collaboration initiated through the companies' strategic alliance, which was announced in March 2005. By providing a complete business process lifecycle management solution to enterprises, Fujitsu and IDS Scheer are enabling companies worldwide to optimize their business processes to gain competitive advantage and operational efficiency.
"In partnering with Fujitsu, we have combined our solutions to deliver high-value business process lifecycle support for our joint global customers," said Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, CEO of IDS Scheer in the Americas. "Our combined BPM tools provide these joint customers with streamlined operations to gain a competitive edge and ensure optimum ROI on their IT investments."
Through the integration of Fujitsu's industry-leading BPM solution, Interstage Business Process Manager, with IDS Scheer's ARIS Business Architect and ARIS Process Performance Manager, Fujitsu has expanded its powerful business process management suite to bring Business and IT together to design, simulate, automate, analyze, and optimize business processes. Business processes can now be designed with ARIS Business Architect and then exported to Interstage Business Process Manager for process execution purposes. With ARIS PPM, the implemented processes can be visualized and analyzed for optimal process reorganization.
"This alliance demonstrates our commitment to ongoing innovation and development as we continue to address the current and future business needs of our customers. Our combined offering provides our customers with the ability to orchestrate business processes across departments and partner organizations for enhanced collaboration, increased efficiencies, and optimal business performance," said Robert Sepanloo, senior vice president of Interstage at Fujitsu Software Corporation.
"The tightness of the integration and interoperability among different software tools represents a differentiator among business process management suite (BPMS) vendors," said Jim Sinur, Gartner Inc. "By 2009, the BPMSs will become the focal point for empowered managers, enabling proactive or reactive responses to opportunity and threat scenarios for critical operations by leveraging dynamic and explicit control over processes, rules, and human and system-based business activities."
Fujitsu to Highlight BPM Best Practices at ProcessWorld 2006
Fujitsu will highlight BPM best practices and how they are applied using Interstage Business Process Manager at ProcessWorld,
which runs February 12-15, 2006 at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, Florida. Featured will be a case study by Fujitsu
customer, EPCOR Inc. titled, "How BPM has Ensured that an Electricity Company is Unphased by Changing Regulations." EPCOR,
one of Canada's top electricity providers, with over 300,000 accounts in both the commercial and residential sectors and a
provider of power to 38 electricity retailers, will share how the company addresses regulatory changes and the associated
reporting and accountability requirements with BPM. Fujitsu, a platinum sponsor of ProcessWorld 2006, will also host the conference's
Financial Services Networking Lunch, as well as demonstrate Interstage Business Process Manager at the Fujitsu booth.

IDS Scheer's ARIS Process Platform
IDS Scheer recently announced a new version of its award-winning ARIS Platform. The breakthrough release, version 7, features
unsurpassed levels in usability with a newly redesigned graphical user interface (GUI) that offers existing users the functionality
they need while extending ARIS to a broader universe of end users that are increasingly becoming more involved in business
process management initiatives. The Web-enabled functionality is built upon ARIS Business Architect, ARIS Business Designer,
and ARIS Business Publisher that are Web-based tools designed for business process excellence and enterprise architecture.
These tools reduce the overall TCO offering organizations Web-based, intuitive and collaborative design of processes, data
and IT architectures – all with minimum administration. The end result is the creation of a central repository of business
processes that can be accessed throughout the organization and offers a standardized, consistent look and feel. The newest
version of ARIS PPM provides figure-based measurement, visualization, documentation and evaluation of the "live" processes
and procedures in an organization – all displayed in real time. Using a top-level management dashboard, ARIS PPM measures
and displays actual processes based on existing data (ERP, CRM, helpdesk and others).
