12 May 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Begins Worldwide Sales of UHF-Band RFID Tags for Garment Management
Tokyo, May 12, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Frontech Limited announced that they are expanding sales of UHF-band RFID tags for garment management to markets outside Japan, beginning today. Small, thin and boasting superior durability, the tags will be marketed primarily in North America, Europe, and China.

May 12, 2008 – Fujitsu Services, one of Europe’s leading IT services companies, today announced the creation of 120 jobs in Londonderry and a further 30 in Belfast. This is being made possible with £8.8m of investment from Fujitsu as well as over £2.2m of support from Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI). Fujitsu will establish an Applications Services Centre of Excellence at its Timber Quay site in Londonderry where the majority of the jobs will be based.

28 April 2008 UK: Scottish Water Awards ￡28m IT Transformation Contract to Fujitsu and Anticipates 20% Cost Savings
April 28, 2008 – Fujitsu Services, one of Europe's leading IT services companies, today announced it had secured a contract with Scottish Water in an 8 year deal worth £28m to supply service desk support and infrastructure services as well as desktop managed services. The project will support over 4,000 employees based all over Scotland including its HQ in Dunfermline and its offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Inverness and Livingston, plus engineers and support staff working remotely.
18 April 2008 Japan: China Electronic Commerce Association Becomes First in China to Deploy PalmSecure
Tokyo, April 18, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that its PalmSecure PC mouse equipped with a palm vein biometric sensor has been deployed by the China Electronic Commerce Association (CECA), a government-backed organization that rates the trustworthiness of electronic transactions carried out by Chinese companies. The CECA is using the PalmSecure PC mouse as the login mechanism for its employees to gain access to their computers, ensuring that for each PC, only users who have previously registered their biometric palm vein data can log into it, greatly increasing the organization's information security.
11 April 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Becomes First in Japan to Attain BS25999 Certification in Business Continuity Management System
Tokyo, April 11, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu FSAS Inc. today announced that their maintenance services business for customer IT infrastructure attained BS25999 certification, the British Standard certification for business continuity management system, on April 8, becoming the first organization in Japan to do so. This achievement was the result of the consulting support the companies received from Fujitsu Research Institute, followed by an independent evaluation that found the companies' world-class business continuity management system to be in full compliance with the certification standard.

4 April 2008 Japan, US: Fujitsu Develops Software Verification Technology for Practical-use Web Applications
Kawasaki, Japan and Sunnyvale, US, April 4, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Inc. announced today their joint development of the world's first core technology for automatic verification of Java-based practical-use web applications. It is used to automatically verify if a web application can operate properly to process specified task transactions - referred to as "business specifications", without the need for manually preparing detailed test procedures or test data.
4 April 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Develops Technology Enabling Real-time Multiple-Point Temperature Measurement
Kawasaki, Japan, April 4, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced today the development of a new technology, based on optical fibers, that enables accurate and real-time temperature distribution measurement in large datacenters which have multiple heat sources. Through a single optical fiber, this technology makes it possible to measure simultaneously the temperature of over 10,000 areas in a facility, thereby enabling visibility of temperature distribution in large datacenters. Combining this technology with an air conditioning control system will enable fine-tune air conditioning, allowing for more energy-efficient large-scale data centers.

March 20, 2008 – Adding the BladeEngine, a unified Ethernet and iSCSI network controller to its PRIMERGY Blade Servers, Cafcass (The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service), a non-departmental public body which looks after the interests of children involved in family legal proceedings, joins public sector Flex. Flex is the framework which allows Fujitsu Services in conjunction with the Cabinet Office to provide information and communication technology (ICT) as a shared service across the public sector. The contract, valued at £25 million, is for a seven year term with a refresh of both hardware and software after four years.
17 March 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Completes Financial Services Agency's New EDINET System
Tokyo, March 17, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has completed development of the Japan Financial Services Agency's (FSA) new EDINET system, an electronic system for publicly listed corporations to file financial reports in accordance with the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. As the FSA is mandating the submission of XBRL-formatted reports to EDINET beginning with the 2008 fiscal year, the new system began operations today.
