Fujitsu Releases Software Supporting the Utilization of Big Data

Tokyo, April 23, 2012 – Fujitsu today announced the development of new software offerings that help customers utilize big data. The new products consist of two product families: a line of parallel distributed processing and complex event processing products—which are standard technologies in big data applications—and a line of products to employ big data in a wide range of uses. Fujitsu plans to gradually roll out the new products worldwide.

Fujitsu Releases Riskmining Navigator, a Proactive Risk Analysis Solution

Tokyo, April 20, 2012 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Kyushu Systems Limited (FJQS) today announced the release of Riskmining Navigator, a software solution targeted primarily to manufacturers. The software analyzes reports of past manufacturing and design trouble that occurred on the shop floor and helps to proactively prevent product malfunctions, operator errors and accidents by visualizing trouble occurrence trends and causes.

Tokyo, April 10, 2012 – Fujitsu and the University of Aizu today announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaborations to provide support for medium- to long-term rebuilding efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake. For a period of three years beginning this April, the University of Aizu and Fujitsu will host a course, entitled "Service Science," to train personnel in the promotion of IT-enabled innovation as the first specific step of the collaboration.

Fujitsu Upgrades Kawaijuku's System Platform To Public Cloud

Tokyo, January 17, 2012 – Fujitsu today announced that it has upgraded the systems platform of Kawaijuku Educational Institution by shifting it to the FGCP/S5 public cloud platform. The system is initially used to assess a student's probability of passing college entrance exams. After students take the National Center Test for University Admissions (the 'Center Test'), they can enter their scores into this system to estimate their probability of passing using Kawaijuku's know-how and accumulated data. Kawaijuku will use the new system to offer a College Admittance Probability Assessment service beginning January 18, 2012.

Fujitsu Builds Japan's First Hybrid Cloud Platform Compliant with the Alliance Cloud

Tokyo, December 21, 2011 – Fujitsu today announced that it recently built Japan's first hybrid cloud platform that uses the Alliance Cloud, a standardized cloud model certified by the Global Alliance for User-driven Cloud Computing. This private cloud platform, which was built for the Daiwa Institute of Research, Ltd., began operations in November 2011. It enables hybrid private cloud operation, simultaneously, at multiple datacenters. Fujitsu hopes to deliver new services and solutions based on this platform for the needs of the diversifying hybrid cloud and expanding private cloud market.

Fujitsu IPKNOWLEDGE Improves HR and Payroll Efficiency at Kakogawa City Hospital Organization

Tokyo and Kakogawa City, Japan, December 20, 2011 – Fujitsu Limited and Kakogawa City Hospital Organization today announced the creation of a new HR and payroll administration system using IPKNOWLEDGE, Fujitsu's internal data consolidation solution for public sector institutions. Kakogawa City Hospital Organization is a local independent administrative institution formed through the merger of the former Kakogawa Municipal Hospital (a public hospital with 405 beds) and the former Shinko Kakogawa Hospital (a private hospital with 198 beds). The merger, through which the legal status of the merged entity was converted into an independent administrative institution, was designed to create an independently managed public hospital. IPKNOWLEDGE enabled the personnel data of the two hospitals to be consolidated within a time frame of six months to create a new HR and payroll administration system.

Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Employs Fujitsu Cloud in Global Information Sharing Platform

Tokyo, September 27, 2011 – Fujitsu today announced its recent work with Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co, Ltd. to develop a global information sharing platform using Fujitsu's SaaS-type cloud platform-enabled "tsCollaboration" information sharing service. The new platform features a wide range of capabilities for protecting sensitive information—document encryption, printing restrictions, and audit trail management—in order to securely share highly sensitive information, including new drug development data, with offices and subsidiaries outside of Japan. By leveraging the cloud platform at Fujitsu's datacenter in Japan, Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma has been able to centralize the management of sensitive information while ensuring robust security.
