Fujitsu Prevails in Patent Litigation Against Nanya Technology

Tokyo, May 14, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that Nanya Technology Corporation Japan has withdrawn its appeal against a Tokyo District Court ruling which found that Nanya Technology infringes a Fujitsu patent.

Fujitsu Laboratories Develops Industry's First Image-Sensing Technology for Thorough Motion Path Tracking of Individuals

Kawasaki, Japan, May 13, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced today, as an industry first, the development of a new image-sensing technology that can thoroughly and accurately track - without blind spots - the motion paths of multiple individuals as they move while indoor. By employing ceiling-mounted multiple compact surveillance cameras to monitor designated areas, and enabling automatic and accurate extraction of the motion paths of individuals shown in images from those cameras, this technology has potential for practical use in a wide variety of applications, including surveillance of suspicious behavior, observation of consumer purchasing behavior as retail marketing, and task analysis as part of visualization of work efficiencies.

Fujitsu Begins Worldwide Sales of UHF-Band RFID Tags for Garment Management

Tokyo, May 12, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Frontech Limited announced that they are expanding sales of UHF-band RFID tags for garment management to markets outside Japan, beginning today. Small, thin and boasting superior durability, the tags will be marketed primarily in North America, Europe, and China.

Fujitsu Reports Fiscal 2007 Financial Results

Tokyo, May 12, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited, a leading provider of IT-based business solutions for the global marketplace, today reported a consolidated operating income of 204.9 billion yen (US$2,049 million) for fiscal 2007 (April 1, 2007 – March 31, 2008), an increase of 12.6% over the previous year. The increase in operating income was primarily attributable to sharply higher sales of solutions/SI, servers, PCs and mobile phones as well as the success of cost control initiatives throughout the Fujitsu Group.

Fujitsu to Spin Off Photonics Business in Reorganization

Tokyo, May 12, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited announced today that it will spin off, through a simple absorption-type separation, its photonics manufacturing division and photonics product development division for the Japanese market and transfer the divisions to its wholly owned subsidiary, Fujitsu Access Limited, as of July 1, 2008. The decision was made at a meeting of the Board of Directors today.

Notice Regarding Distribution of Dividends from Retained Earnings

Regarding Losses on Revaluation of Investment Securities and Stocks of Subsidiaries and Affiliates

Tokyo, May 12, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that in its financial results for fiscal 2007 ended March 31, 2008, it has recognized a loss on the revaluation of investment securities as well as a loss on the revaluation of stocks of subsidiaries and affiliates whose current market value or net worth has declined significantly and is unlikely to be recovered in the future. In addition, a gain on the sale of a portion of investment securities was recognized.

Freescale Semiconductor, Fujitsu Microelectronics and Alpha Systems Develop New Digital Media Server Development Platform

TOKYO and AUSTIN, TX , May 12, 2008 – Freescale Semiconductor, Fujitsu Microelectronics Ltd. and Alpha Systems Inc. have co-developed a digital media server (DMS) development platform that enables real time transcoding of video content. The platform, which conforms to Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) Networked Device Interoperability Guidelines, will be demonstrated May 14 – 16 at the Embedded Systems Expo (ESEC) in Tokyo.

Fujitsu Launches World's First Train Simulation System with Variable-Speed Playback of High-Definition Video

Tokyo, May 8, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited, building on technology developed in collaboration with Ongakukan Co., Ltd., has developed the world's first train simulation system using full high-definition video. The system is available on a commercial basis starting today.

Fujitsu to Launch ARM1176 Prototyping Kit

Tokyo, May 8, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited (FML) today announced that it will launch an ARM1176 prototyping kit, designed to shorten the development lead time for customers using FML's ASIC and COT services to develop system LSIs that include the ARM1176JZF-S™, ARM926EJ-S™, or ARM946E-S™ processor cores. The new prototyping kit will include an evaluation board loaded with chips for trying out the ARM1176JZF-S processor, a FPGA reference design, and sample programs. FML's prototyping kit will enable customers to debug their logic circuits and develop device drivers before fabrication of their chips, resulting in a faster system-LSI design process. The new kit will be available from July 2008, and will be exhibited at the 11th Embedded Systems Expo, to be held from May 14 to 16, 2008 at Tokyo Big Sight.

Fujitsu Laboratories Develops Technology for Quick and Accurate Estimation of Rate of Soft Errors in Advanced Semiconductors

Kawasaki, Japan, April 30, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced that, in collaboration with the Hawaii Observatory of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, an inter-university research institute that is part of Japan's National Institute of Natural Sciences, the development of a technique for quick and accurate field measurement of the rate of "soft errors", which are erroneous operations that occur in advanced semiconductors and are caused by neutrons from a type of cosmic ray.

Fujitsu to Launch World's First 320 GB 2.5" Hard Drive with AES 256-bit Encryption

Tokyo, April 21, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced the release of the MHZ2 CJ Series of 320 GB 2.5" hard disk drives with automatic hardware-based encryption to effectively secure data against theft or loss, along with the industry's highest rotational speed of 7200-rpm and a 3.0 Gb/s Serial ATA interface. The new series of drives for computers and external storage devices will be available at the end of May 2008.

China Electronic Commerce Association Becomes First in China to Deploy PalmSecure

Tokyo, April 18, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that its PalmSecure PC mouse equipped with a palm vein biometric sensor has been deployed by the China Electronic Commerce Association (CECA), a government-backed organization that rates the trustworthiness of electronic transactions carried out by Chinese companies. The CECA is using the PalmSecure PC mouse as the login mechanism for its employees to gain access to their computers, ensuring that for each PC, only users who have previously registered their biometric palm vein data can log into it, greatly increasing the organization's information security.

Fujitsu Becomes First in Japan to Attain BS25999 Certification in Business Continuity Management System

Tokyo, April 11, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu FSAS Inc. today announced that their maintenance services business for customer IT infrastructure attained BS25999 certification, the British Standard certification for business continuity management system, on April 8, becoming the first organization in Japan to do so. This achievement was the result of the consulting support the companies received from Fujitsu Research Institute, followed by an independent evaluation that found the companies' world-class business continuity management system to be in full compliance with the certification standard.

Fujitsu Develops Technology Enabling Real-time Multiple-Point Temperature Measurement

Kawasaki, Japan, April 4, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced today the development of a new technology, based on optical fibers, that enables accurate and real-time temperature distribution measurement in large datacenters which have multiple heat sources. Through a single optical fiber, this technology makes it possible to measure simultaneously the temperature of over 10,000 areas in a facility, thereby enabling visibility of temperature distribution in large datacenters. Combining this technology with an air conditioning control system will enable fine-tune air conditioning, allowing for more energy-efficient large-scale data centers.

Fujitsu Completes Upgrade of Japan-US Cable Network

Tokyo, March 27, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has successfully completed an upgrade of the Japan-US Cable Network, a submarine fiber-optic cable system spanning the Pacific Ocean. Fujitsu's state-of-the-art technology allows the network to carry a capacity of more than 1.28 terabits per second (Tbps), doubling the original design capacity of 640 gigabits per second (Gbps) to support growing demand for high-speed, high-capacity trans-Pacific communications.

Tokyo, March 24, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced its new MHZ2 BJ series of 2.5" hard disk drives that feature a rotational speed of 7200 RPM and capacities up to 320 GB. Sales of the new series will begin at the end of June 2008. The new series is designed for use in high-performance PCs, such as high-end notebook computers and compact desktops.
