4 December 2007 Japan and Taiwan: Fujitsu and Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry to Establish Joint Venture for WiMAX Application Platforms
Tokyo and Taipei, December 4, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited and the Institute for Information Industry (III) of Taiwan, a non-governmental organization jointly sponsored by the Taiwan government and prominent private enterprises, today announced their agreement to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU), to establish a new company in Taiwan that will develop application platforms and provide engineering support based on WiMAX technology from Fujitsu and III. Through the joint venture, scheduled to be established in March 2008, it is anticipated that Fujitsu and III will significantly contribute to the development of the WiMAX industry in Taiwan.

Tokyo, September 28, 2007 – In November 2006 Fujitsu Limited was selected by NTT DoCoMo, Inc. to develop and manufacture prototypes and commercial equipment for DoCoMo's "Super 3G" wireless base stations. Since then, DoCoMo and Fujitsu Laboratories Limited have made progress in jointly developing prototype wireless base station equipment, and maximum downlink transmission speeds of approximately 900Mbps have now been achieved through the application of MIMO technology, a core technology for high-speed, high-volume wireless communications.

9 July 2007 UK: Fujitsu Hits Major MSAN Milestones for BT 21CN Multi Service Access Node Roll-Out
Birmingham, July 9, 2007 – Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Limited announced today that it has contributed to two significant milestones involving the roll-out of Multi Service Access Nodes (MSANs) across BT's new 21st Century Network, known in the industry as 21CN. The first milestone was the completion of the MSAN installation at all 64 exchanges in South Wales, which comprises the initial phase of BT's 21CN deployment. This involved the supply and installation of some 164 MSANs, comprising 104 copper and 60 fibre in total. In parallel, Fujitsu has also completed the installation of the 34 exchanges required to enable a major trial of next generation broadband services, also involving a combination of copper and fibre MSANs. These next generation broadband services will be rolled out to some 60,000 customers in the West Midlands later this year, before extending the new service nationally early in 2008. With the installation and commissioning of these latest 100 sites, Fujitsu now has almost 300 MSANs deployed in the 21CN.

15 May 2007 US, Russia: Kedah Electronics Engineering Selects the Fujitsu Fixed WiMAX System-on-Chip for 3.5GHz Wireless Systems in Russia
Sunnyvale, CA, and Moscow, Russia, May 15, 2007 – Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA), a leading provider of wireline and wireless systems-on-chip (SoCs) for next-generation networks, will provide its MB87M3550 fixed WiMAX SoCs to Kedah Electronics Engineering, an entrepreneurial Russian company that designs and manufactures telecommunication products and systems. Kedah will use the Fujitsu WiMAX SoCs for its new AsterPlex+ WiMAX Customer Premises Units (CPE) and WiMAX base stations. Kedah plans to ship systems for the 3.5GHz band this year, and expand into 2.5 – 2.7GHz and 5.1 – 6.4GHz thereafter.
14 May 2007 Japan: Fujitsu Signs Contract for Upgrade of Japan-US Cable Network
Tokyo, May 14, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has signed the contract for the upgrade of the Japan-US Cable Network, a submarine fiber-optic cable system, with a consortium represented by seven telecommunications carriers, including AT&T Corp, KDDI Corporation, NTT Communications Corporation, Qwest Communications International Inc., Reach Global Networks Ltd, Softbank Telecom Corp., and Verizon Business. With this transpacific contract, Fujitsu’s FLASHWAVE S650 submarine line terminal equipment will be implemented at three landing points each in Japan and the US.
24 April 2007 Japan: Conclusion of Agreement of Transfer on Shares of JAPAN CABLENET HOLDINGS LIMITED and JAPAN CABLENET LIMITED
Tokyo, April 24, 2007 – KDDI Corporation ("KDDI") and Fujitsu Limited ("Fujitsu") have reached a final agreement concerning the transfer of shares held by Fujitsu to KDDI in JAPAN CABLENET HOLDINGS LIMITED ("JCNH") and JAPAN CABLENET LIMITED ("JCN"). JCNH and JCN, therefore, will be consolidated subsidiaries of KDDI.

Utilizing advanced H.264 video encoding, the IP-9500 enables live transmission of high-quality HDTV at approximately half the bit-rate of typical MPEG-2 encoders.

Tokyo, April 5, 2007 – Yokogawa Electric Corporation and Fujitsu Limited today announced the joint development of the world's first practical 40 Gbps optical transmission technologies using differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK). The two companies are respectively planning to incorporate the technologies in various new products for 40 Gbps ultra high-speed optical transmission networks.

Tokyo, March 30, 2007 – Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced their development of a wavelength tunable laser for 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical transmission. As a world's first, the company confirmed stable wavelength tunability and optical fiber long-range transmission of a wavelength tunable laser across 80 kilometers (km), in the form of a XFP-type optical transceiver. This new technology will enable practical application of small, high-performance optical transceivers to support high-capacity and high-reliability optical networks.
29 March 2007 Japan: Tokyo Institute of Technology and Fujitsu Laboratories Actualize World's First Infrared Light Propagation in Optical Crystal Films on Silicon Substrate
Tokyo, March 29, 2007 – The Tokyo Institute of Technology and Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced their joint development of a new technology that enables the successful propagation of infrared light through an optical crystal film on a silicon substrate, for the first time in the world. 27 March 2007 Japan: Fujitsu To Release XFP-type 10 Gbps Optical Transceiver with 40km Transmission Distance and Operable Temperature Range of -40°C to 85°C
Tokyo, March 27, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited today announced the development of a new 10 Gbps Small Form Factor Pluggable (XFP)-type optical transceiver that is capable of operating over a wide temperature range of –40°C (-40°F ) to 85°C (185°F ), and at distances of up to 40 km. The transceiver, which will make possible smaller optical transmission equipment that can function at higher speeds and in harsher temperature environments, will be available from July 1, 2007.

2 March 2007 Japan: KDDI and Fujitsu Develop Practical-Use High-Efficiency Amplifier for Mobile WiMAX
Tokyo, March 2, 2007 – KDDI Corporation, Fujitsu Limited, and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced their joint development of a high-efficiency amplifier applicable for mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e-2005), a next-generation wireless broadband communications protocol, and which offers industry-leading levels of power efficiency. Tokyo, February 8, 2007 – NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Renesas Technology Corp., Fujitsu Limited, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Sharp Corporation, and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, today announced that they plan to jointly develop a next-generation mobile phone platform(*1) for dual-mode handsets supporting HSDPA(*2)/W-CDMA (3G) and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (2G). Development of the platform is targeted to complete during Q2, FY2008 (July-September).

25 January 2007 Australia: Telikom PNG Signs Master Procurement Agreement with Fujitsu Australia Limited
Wellington, January 25, 2007 – Telikom PNG, the national provider of telecommunications services in Papua New Guinea, today announced that it has signed a five-year master procurement agreement with Fujitsu Australia Limited for the provision of digital trunk radio systems and corporate IT infrastructure and services. The agreement, the first signed by Telikom PNG as part of a K1.4 billion (US$500 million) expansion and upgrade of its telecoms network, will see Fujitsu become a major supplier and partner to Papua New Guinea's primary telecommunications service provider.
