  2013 iF communication design award goes to Fujitsu for its visual identity

  The Fujitsu corporate design, offering a unique and striking visual interpretation of our brand promise "shaping tomorrow with you", has won the internationally acclaimed iF award in the communication design category. Established in 1953, the iF program is one of the world's most prestigious seals of quality acknowledging design excellence. Each year, prizes are awarded in three categories: the iF communication design award, iF product design award and the iF packaging design award. For Fujitsu, being awarded a 2013 iF communication design was recognition of our striking Visual Identity which reinforces our brand identity around the world.

  Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers Awards Fujitsu with 2010 SMPTE Journal Certificate of Merit for Technical Paper on Innovative Color-Sampling for High-definition Satellite Newsgathering (HD-SNG) Broadcast Applications
  - New chroma-sampling filter set completely suppresses color degradation blur for MPEG-4 AVC chroma sampling formats 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 -

  The Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers (SMPTE), theleading technical society for the motion imaging industry and anaccredited and globally-respected industry standards-setting body, hasawarded Fujitsu Laboratories senior researcher Akira Nakagawa with the2010 SMPTE Journal Certificate of Merit, for his paper "The 4:2:2/4:2:0Perfect Reconstruction Filter Set and Its Application in HD-SNG"published in the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal. Nakagawa presented anovel innovative chroma (color)-sampling filter set, known as the"Perfect Reconstruction Filter Set" (for chroma down-sampling andup-sampling) designed for the 4:2:0 video codec used widely inhigh-definition satellite newsgathering (HD-SNG), that resolves andcompletely suppresses blur (chroma displacement), a technical drawbackwhich occurs when several 4:2:0 codecs are concatenated (linked) byhigh-definition serial digital interface (HD-SDI, a 4:2:2 interconnect).

  Hiro Kishimoto, Senior Vice President of Cloud Platform Development Unit, won a 2011 DMTF Star Award from DMTF

  DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) has established the Japanese Marketing Subcommittee as its first regional subcommittee, in October 2011. Fujitsu has played the leading role for its foundation. Dr. Kishimoto serves as the founding chair and won a 2011 DMTF start award for his outstanding contribution.
  In two consecutive years, Fujitsu won DMTF Star Awards.
