ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager 13.4 is now available.

From January 2009, Fujitsu's Storage Management Software ETERNUS SF commenced sale of ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager 13.4 (for Solaris, Windows, PRIMERGY Linux and PRIMEQUEST Linux). ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager 13.4 extends support to new ETERNUS disk storage systems: ETERNUS8000 model 2200, model 1200, model 800, ETERNUS4000 model 600 and model 400. This version also provides enhanced functionality. From version 13.4, ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager supports backup operations with or without an agent being installed on the application server.

Backup operation without affecting applications
ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager enables server-free and LAN-free backup operation. This minimizes the effects on business applications to near zero. No matter how large data volumes grow, the high-speed backup capability isn't compromised ensuring almost no application halts are required when backing up application data and system volumes. This enables system volumes(*Note 1) to be practically backed up right before/after patch application and business application changes.
*Note 1 : ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager needs to be installed on a management server other than the application server.
Achieving backup operation without stopping database system
ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager can perform backup operations without stopping the database. It operates in cooperation with Oracle, Symfoware, DB2 and Exchange Server, allowing for 24 x 7 continuous application operation.
Virtual server environment ability
ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager provides high-speed backup operation in virtual server environments created using VMware and Hyper-V.
Backup operation consolidation includes tapes
ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager integrates all backup operations including tape. This enables fully managed Disk - to - Disk - to - Tape backup.
Use of ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager with ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser can reduce storage power consumption. This is achieved by only powering backup disks during backup operation. For example, using ETERNUS2000 consisting of 24 nearline disk drives (as backup disks) for a 5 hour backup operation (physical copy), power consumption can be reduced about 15%.
Disaster recovery with remote SAN copy
ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy function supports remote copy capability using ETERNUS disk storage systems connected via WAN. Secure disaster recovery can be achieved by allocating ETERNUS disk storage systems for backup data storage at quake-proof and other disaster proof locations.
