Responsible Business has been a substantial part of the Fujitsu Way (our corporate philosophy) since its inception, and therefore to our company DNA. It is genuine and longstanding, and our practice has been recognised and applauded externally in many benchmarks and indices

Responsible practices are driven across the entire company, from protecting intellectual property rights and enforcing our human rights policy to encouraging all employees to get involved with community action projects. Our responsible business pillars – Environment, Community Involvement & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Wellbeing and Operating Practices - are the foundation for our country level strategy whilst defining common themes across Fujitsu.
Activities in Switzerland
After a kick-off meeting in 2015 our Responsible Business programme has been well developed and communicated amongst all employees promoting the awareness of Fujitsu as one of the most sustainable ICT companies.
One of our focus areas is to encourage young talent into our organization: For this purpose we cooperate with an educational institution called “Freestar” where the trainees receive their theoretical training whilst their practical internships are completed with Fujitsu; meanwhile we have already been able to recruit several young employees from this excellent programme.
Also we are starting a cooperation / a sponsorship with a student organization, founded in Switzerland, named “oikos”. oikos is an international student-driven association for sustainability in economics and management. They empower young leaders to drive change towards sustainability worldwide through seminars, round-tables, research and more.
As a company with a strong focus on responsible practices we are attractive for talent with all kinds of background (across all ages, gender, race, abilities and commitments), and are offering at the same time optimum working conditions such as flexible working hours as well as the possibility to work from home (up to 40% of the working hours).
Fujitsu is taking a leadership role, proactively pursuing our goals across our entire global value chain, with customers, partners and suppliers. We want to work with organisations who share our values and collaborate to make positive change. We continue to respond to social and environmental challenges by increasing sustainable ICT products and solutions and developing innovative technologies which reduce the environmental impact of our customers' businesses.
Also in Switzerland we aim to increase the value of both Fujitsu and our customer’s brands with consumers and stakeholders. For example, we are establishing a monthly report on recycling volumes for one of our big customers (bank). Also we are offering to customers to carry out analisys for them using our newly developed carbon foot printing tool.
