Fujitsu Canada presents Staples with unique award as first Canadian retailer to exceed $1 million in ScanSnap sales

Fujitsu Canada, Inc.

Mississauga, ON, June 20, 2012

Fujitsu Canada has presented Staples, Canada’s largest office products company, with an award as the first Canadian retailer to exceed $1 million in sales of Fujitsu ScanSnap scanners. During the calendar year 2011, the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 was the #1 selling Scan to PDF solution in North America.

To commemorate the achievement, David Shearer, Executive Vice President, Fujitsu Canada, presented a special edition lacquer and gold-leaf ScanSnap S1500 to Steve Matyas, president of Staples Canada.

"The user-friendly simplicity of ScanSnap is a great fit with our promise of bringing easy to our customers," said Matyas. “We are proud to include the excellent ScanSnap family of products within our extensive offering of most cutting-edge inventory from technology industry leaders such as Fujitsu.”

Part of a limited production run of only 25 units worldwide, the special edition ScanSnap S1500 is the result of a collaboration between Fujitsu and Japan’s premier maker of Wajima lacquerware, one of the most recognized examples of traditional Japanese crafts. Its durable coating of urushi lacquer was applied with a layering technique called "tenpi kurome," and features a Golden Eagle and ScanSnap logo made from pure gold powder.

“Fujitsu Canada is pleased to partner with Staples as a technology destination for businesses across Canada,” said Shearer. “I am delighted to present them with this very special award, a unique blend of technology and traditional Japanese aesthetics.”
