Network File System

Current version: V3.0

NFS (Network File System) permits distributed file access in networks having different computer architectures and operating systems. The use of NFS presupposes a computer network in which communication can take place via TCP/IP.

With NFS in BS2000, POSIX file systems or BS2000 files contained in bs2fs file systems can be made accessible to users on remote computers or data sets located on remote computers can be edited. NFS considerably simplifies interoperability in a heterogeneous IT infrastructure.
