Sunnyvale, CA, September 15, 2008 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced Mag EraSURE ME-P3 Version 2, Fujitsu’s latest secure degaussing solution for the permanent erasure of all magnetically recorded data on hard disk drives (HDDs) and other storage devices. Mag EraSURE ME-P3 Version 2 completely erases sensitive data embedded several layers down that might not have been deleted using conventional methods, on hard disk drives, tapes and other magnetically recorded media, in just 15 seconds—a speed three times faster than earlier models—and adds support for the VHS tape format. Fujitsu and Security Engineered Machinery (SEM), Fujitsu’s government distributor of Mag EraSURE, will display the new product at SEM’s booth (#2218) at ASIS International 2008, September 15-18 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
