Different disk drives in the same drive enclosure

ETERNUS DX support SSD (Solid State Drives) with highest access speed in addition to high-performance Online disk drives and large-capacity, low-cost Nearline disk drives.
Both 2.5" and 3.5" types are provided and can be selected as required.
SAS /Nearline /SSD disks can be mixed in the same 2.5" or 3.5" inch drive enclosures. This avoids purchasing additional drive enclosures for each drive type, enabling more flexible drive expansion.
(2.5" drive enclosure can be installed with up to 24 disks and 3.5" drive enclosures with up to 12 disks)
In addition, 2.5" and 3.5" enclosures can be mixed in the same storage configuration. This decreases the number of enclosures installed, by using 2.5" disk drives for high performance SSD and online disks, and using 3.5" Nearline disk drives for maximum capacity.
Furthermore, ETERNUS DX (S3 or later) series has high-density drive enclosures and they house up to 60 3.5 disk drives in one DE, which can provide up to 240 TB in 4 rack units. Large drive structure can be installed in downsized footprint by half.
