Collaborating for Success: Fujitsu and MoBagel partnership
September 5, 2024
JapaneseNearly 90% of companies plan to increase their investment in AI this year, according to Fujitsu’s survey of 800 CxOs across 15 countries conducted in January 2024 (*1). In addition, nearly 80% of the respondents plan to implement AI in areas previously considered too complex – for example in product and service improvements, as well as business decision-making support.
As demand for AI becomes increasingly sophisticated, so too does the requirement for greater AI accuracy and quality, with many companies and startups focusing their development efforts on these areas. For a single company, it is extremely challenging to build a top quality AI model and implement it at pace. Success relies on collaboration and the ability to integrate diverse technologies if you are going to realize technological breakthroughs quickly.
One of Fujitsu’s key strategies is to prioritize co-creation with startups that produce cutting-edge technologies and services. As a result, we have established a multi-faceted system that includes support for business partnerships and investment functions. Within this framework, the Business Incubation Division in our Technology Strategy Unit is playing a crucial role in fostering innovation. We achieve this by integrating Fujitsu's advanced technologies with those of external companies, focusing particularly on startups.
AI Collaboration in Action: MoBagel and Fujitsu
MoBagel (*2) is a leading vendor of no-code AI/machine learning (ML) platforms. Its no-code AI/ML platform "Decanter AI" enables data scientists and experts in various fields to design and build AI solutions collaboratively.
In December 2022, MoBagel was approached by a company that had experienced a significant setback after implementing their own AI for marketing analysis. To meet the customer's needs, an advanced AI algorithm solution was required. While searching for a solution, MoBagel learned about Fujitsu's AI technology through an event hosted by Plug and Play (*3), and this led directly to kick-start our collaboration.
As a result, two key Fujitsu technologies have been integrated to enhance the functionality of Decanter AI – namely Fujitsu AutoML and Wide Learning, an explainable AI.
- Principal Features:
- Ultra-fast modeling with Fujitsu AutoML: Implements data validation systems and algorithm recommendations to improve model accuracy and deployment speed while optimizing the use of computational resources.
- Optimization of explainable AI with Wide Learning: By incorporating the technology of Wide Learning, an explainable AI, the explainability is enhanced, promoting trust and understanding with customers. Customers can confidently implement and operate AI.
MoBagel integrated these two advanced AI technologies into their Decanter AI platform, an advanced data analytics tool for building AI models accurately and cost-effectively while streamlining data analysis and modeling. As a result, they were able to improve the speed of AI model construction by a factor of four, as well as reducing computing costs by 60%. Additionally, this collaboration contributed to the customer releasing their first AI agent for digital marketing in just one month.
