S-4/260

After receiving an OEM supply of Sun Workstations from U.S. company Sun Microsystems in 1988, sales of the "Fujitsu S Family Engineering Workstation" began. In the S family, the S-3 series was equipped with a 32-bit Motorola 68020 processor, and the S-4 series with a Fujitsu SPARC processor. Sun Workstations had built the status of being open platform machines which supported the SunOS system, allowing many types of third-party software to be used on S family machines without changes.
Subsequently, the S family expanded to various types including Fujitsu's independently-developed machines as well.
