Fujitsu ESPRIMO Desktop Advances Take PC Circularity to New Level

Munich, April 04, 2023

Fujitsu today announces advances in its highly expandable and flexible ESPRIMO desktop models. The new PC range features boosted technical performance, reduced total cost of ownership, and new standards for circular sustainability. Alongside the Intel and AMD CPU chipsets, there are significant reductions across the ESPRIMO range in both power consumption and the use of raw materials, plus an extended lifecycle and increased recycling compatibility.

Available as ESPRIMO G Series mini-PC, ESPRIMO D Series small form factor, and ESPRIMO P Series micro tower formats, the range now boasts technology upgrades in high-speed DDR5 memory technology and Intel 12th and 13th Generation CPU capabilities. Additional features include I/O capabilities with up to four monitor ports and support for 10 USB interfaces. The range includes the upgraded ESPRIMO D9013 and G9013 CELSIUS Edition Workstation models for high-end needs. The Secured-core PC option of the 13th Generation devices offers firmware- and software functions to protect the operating system against sophisticated attacks.

Greater circularity is emerging as one of the most promising ways for society to achieve net zero carbon emissions via reduce, reuse, and recycle principles. Fujitsu is cutting computing’s carbon footprint with the lowest-yet power consumption across the ESPRIMO range. The new models are up to 65% below ENERGY STAR 8 annual energy consumption thresholds. The Mini PC ESPRIMO G9013 draws just 17.3 kWh/year – significantly below the maximum permitted usage of 50.02 kWh/year. Power use is also reduced via the new Fujitsu Standby Energy Saving Tool, available at no additional cost.

The environmentally conscious production and disposal ethos of the Fujitsu ESPRIMO range lifts circularity via a raft of important design improvements. ESPRIMO desktops now use fewer materials, such as plastic packaging. New models incorporate up to 62% post-consumer recycled plastic and ITE-derived post-consumer content – one of the categories tracked by EPEAT, the Type-1 ecolabel for technology products – and deliver a recycling-friendly design framework that is further encouraged with an erase data feature for secure component recycling.

Fujitsu has also extended the lifecycle of the ESPRIMO range with a modular design that allows for system expansion. Additionally, Fujitsu guarantees the supply of spares for five years from the end of production. Administrators’ life is also enhanced with remote troubleshooting via the Intel vPRO platform. Additionally, the Modern Standby feature keeps the system up-to-date and being connected to the network with extremely low power consumption.

Pricing and availability

Available to order immediately in Europe, the first shipments of the ESPRIMO D/P9013, ESPRIMO G7012A, and ESPRIMO G9012 PCIe (+GFX) will take place in April, followed by the first shipments of the ESPRIMO G9013 in May 2023
