Better Buys for Business Awards Fujitsu Scanners as "Editor's Choice" in Scan-to-File Guide for 11th Consecutive Year

Sunnyvale, CA, December 22, 2010 – Fujitsu, the market leader in document imaging scanners, is pleased to announce that nine Fujitsu scanners were selected as "Editor’s Choice Award" winners in the Better Buys for Business 2011 Scan-to-File Guide, published in the November issue. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 & S1500M, ScanSnap fi-6010N iScanner, fi-6130 & fi-6230, fi-6670 & fi-6770, fi-6800, and fi-5950 were deemed winners in five out of six product categories, including multipurpose, networked, low-volume, midrange, and high-end production models. Additionally, the fi-6800 model received the 2010 Innovative Product of the Year Award in the “scan-to-file” category. This signals the eleventh consecutive year Fujitsu has won the "Editor’s Choice Award" in the publication’s Scan-to-File Guide.

Fujitsu Accelerates Exhaustive Verification of Java Software Through Parallel Processing

Sunnyvale, U.S. and Kawasaki, Japan, December 17, 2010 – Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Inc. and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced the development of technology enabling high-speed exhaustive verification of Java software using parallel processing. In order to ensure the quality of ICT systems, it is critical that software programs be sufficiently tested. By employing this new technology that leverages the power of cloud computing, on previous technologies enabling exhaustive verification of programs developed by Fujitsu Laboratories, time required for verification can be dramatically shortened, leading to expectations that the technology will result in enhancement of program quality.

Fujitsu and Boeing Form Strategic Alliance in Aircraft Maintenance Services

TOKYO and SEATTLE, WA, December 17, 2010 – Fujitsu (TSE: 6702) and Boeing [NYSE: BA] have established a strategic alliance in which the companies will develop a service to enable greater efficiency in aircraft maintenance operations. The partnership will employ unique tools such as Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) and Contact Memory Buttons (CMB) to allow customers to use these technologies without needing to retrofit their own fleets. Airlines can reduce costs by reducing inventory and manual data entry errors without having to create new processes.

Fujitsu Completes Green Life Cycle Assessment for Selected Products

Augsburg/Munich, December 14, 2010 – Fujitsu has completed its product carbon footprint (PCF) project within nine months, and presented the results together with the bifa environmental institute, an institute for ecological issues in Augsburg. The ‘product carbon footprint’ represents the greenhouse gas emissions that products contribute to the CO2 balance of our planet. With the help of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) according to ISO standard 14040/44, and in cooperation with the bifa environmental institute and Fraunhofer IZM in Berlin (Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration), Fujitsu analyzed selected products in its PC and server lines throughout their product life cycle and evaluated the results. Fraunhofer Institute checked the findings and gave Fujitsu a positive evaluation.
