Fujitsu today announced that its new docomo smartphone REGZA Phone T-01C will be available in Japan from NTT DOCOMO, Inc. beginning December 17, 2010.
The T-01C is an all-in-one Android™-based smartphone that combines the fun and cutting-edge capabilities of a smartphone with the benefits of conventional mobile phones—including high-spec features, like a 12.2 megapixel high-performance and high-resolution camera, and conveniences such as Osaifu-Keitai®(1) mobile wallet functionality and water-resistance.
Equipped with Mobile REGZA Engine 3.0—a processing engine optimized for smartphones that is based on the super-resolution technology employed in Toshiba's REGZA LCD TVs, the T-01C enables users to enjoy watching one-segment TV, YouTube™, and other videos in beautiful image quality. The handset's 12.2 megapixel autofocus-enabled camera ranks among the industry's highest performance cameras for a smartphone, and it is capable of recording hi-definition video footage.
In addition, the T-01C is equipped with a number of features that have been highly requested by users of conventional mobile phones, including IPX5/IPX7(2) water-resistance, Osaifu-Keitai® functionality, one-segment infrared communications, and the ATOK Japanese input system, making the T-01C an all-in-one, high-spec smartphone.
The T-01C is available in two color variations: Moist Black and Mellow Bordeaux.

The IPX5 designation indicates that the mobile phone can normally function after being sprayed with water from a nozzle with a diameter of 6.3 mm at a rate of 12.5 liters per minute from a distance of approximately 3m for a period of at least 3 minutes. The IPX7 designation, in the case of the T-01C, indicates that the mobile phone normally functions after being immersed in room-temperature tap or still water to a depth of 1 m for 30 minutes. When using the mobile phone, please ensure that all covers (including the rear cover) are completely closed. To maintain water-resistance, it is essential to replace these parts at least once every two years (costs separate). When recharging the phone, the use of the holder is recommended.
 Hi-Vision video recording
A 16GB microSDHC™ card (sample included) or either a microSD™ card (sold separately) with an SD Speed Class greater than Class 4 or microSDHC™ card are recommended for recording video.
