Fujitsu kicks off channel promotion "ETERNUS for Business Continuity"

Channel partners benefit from complete Disaster Recovery solution

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, May 12, 2010

Fujitsu today launches its latest channel promotion for its ETERNUS disk storage system to support clients' need for robust and cost-effective business continuity solutions.

On sale from today through December 31, 2010, a special bundle of hardware and software is available globally excluding Japan at a very attractive price point, allowing channel partners to offer competitive deals to their small- and medium-sized business customers. Under the slogan "ETERNUS for Business Continuity," this promotion was created to support channel partners in times when the economy is heading for an upturn again and companies are ready to make necessary investments.

The complete Disaster Recovery solution features asynchronous and synchronous storage-based replication between two ETERNUS DX90 disk storage systems with ETERNUS SF Remote Copy Licenses. The solution already includes storage management software at no extra cost; it can be run on Windows-based host system. In addition to that, a customer can combine this storage solution with a PRIMERGY RX or TX server unit from Fujitsu, which is also an optional part of the bundle. This low maintenance, cost-effective approach to remote data protection, recovery, and migration, significantly reduces the burden of meeting modern data retention policies and compliance testing associated with government regulations - a challenge mostly for growing small and medium-sized businesses.

SMBs therefore are very interested in cost effective solutions that will move them closer to realizing a reliable protection from storage disasters. Fujitsu's ETERNUS for Business Continuity solution brings simplicity and affordability to the replication infrastructure required for data center operation. With ETERNUS storage infrastructure and management products, a company's important corporate data assets are protected.

"With our reliable, high-performance ETERNUS portfolio now being a constant on a global level, we are happy to offer the benefit of this attractive promotion to our channel partners all around the world", says Hans-Dieter Wysuwa, Senior Vice President Corporate Channels EMEA. "Disaster Recovery is a top issue in every market in the world, as small and medium-sized enterprises have to cope with data retention policies and compliance rules. Our channel partners are the first point of contact and the competent consultants for their customers when it comes to questions of data protection and storage - and we will support them in every possible way to have the right solution ready for this kind of business needs."

Introduced in January 2010, the ETERNUS DX90 model with the ETERNUS SF Express management software provides storage-based data replication capabilities to Fujitsu's entry-level disk storage system line-up for business continuity.
By using the same software stack and hardware functions across the entire range, the ETERNUS DX family integrates well with multi-vendor infrastructures and backup solutions. They are the perfect platform to form dynamic infrastructures for your business processes today and in the future.
