Fujitsu Launches Integrated Production Control System for Nippon Oil Group

Fujitsu Limited,Fujitsu System Solutions Limited

Tokyo, June 14, 2010

Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu System Solutions Limited, in collaboration with Nippon Oil Information Technology Corporation(1), today announced the development of an integrated production control system to assist with production control of ENEOS Celltech Co., Ltd.'s(2)ENE-FARM(3) home fuel cells in Japan.

Construction of the new system was completed in a mere four months by bringing together the Fujitsu Group's know-how in building systems for assembly and manufacturing. The system, which is now operational, serves as the ICT platform for ENEOS Celltech's ENE-FARM production line.

Background

The new system employs Fujitsu System Solutions' WebSERVE smart Hybrid production management solution for assembly and manufacturing. The system automates and streamlines many tasks and functions involved in manufacturing including production planning, resource management, inventory management, production management, and procurement management. By utilizing features condensing and unifying the know-how specific to the assembly and manufacturing processes, Fujitsu built the integrated production control system supporting ENE-FARM's production line in only four months.

In addition, the SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) technology used in WebSERVE smart Hybrid production management solution enabled Fujitsu to build a system with the high degree of flexibility required to accommodate future modifications. These include changes to the way the system connects to, administers, or operates existing product development and planning systems, as well as the step-by-step expansions necessary for future business growth.

The Fujitsu Group will strive to contribute to the environmentally-friendly activities of Nippon Oil and other companies through the use of ICT.
