  • Fujitsu Enables Fast Fintech for Nanto Bank with mBaaS Smartphone Application Service Platform Tokyo, Global, December 25, 2015 - Fujitsu today announced that it is providing its mobile Backend as a Service (mBaaS) open platform, the FUJITSU Cloud Service Smart Biz Connect for Finance, to Nanto Bank, Ltd. for smartphone application services. Smart Biz Connect for Finance is the only mBaaS in Japan to comply with the Security Guidelines on Computer Systems for Banking and Related Financial Institutions issued by the Center for Financial Industry Information Systems (FISC).

  • Fujitsu's Flexible, Battery-less Beacon Is First in World to Obtain ucode Tag Certification Tokyo, Global, December 07, 2015 - Fujitsu today announced that its prototype beacon has obtained the world's first ucode tag certification for a beacon from the TRON Forum . This beacon, which is more easily mass produced, will now be capable of globally unique ID transmission, for more reliable location information services.   • National Institute of Informatics, Fujitsu, and Nagoya University Significantly Enhance Robot Project Math Score Tokyo, Kawasaki, and Nagoya, Japan, Global, November 14, 2015 - The National Institute of Informatics (NII), Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., and Nagoya University today announced that their math team has achieved a deviation value of over 64 on a practice mathematics test as part of their artificial intelligence project called "Can a robot get into the University of Tokyo" (also known as "Todai Robot"). The project was launched by NII in fiscal 2011, joined by Fujitsu Laboratories in 2012, and by Nagoya University in 2013. Joint research on the project has been underway since 2012, led by these three organizations.

  • Fujitsu Conducts Field Trial of Anomaly Detection System Using Optical Fiber Technology for Thermal Power Stations Tokyo, Global, November 12, 2015 - Fujitsu Limited today announced that, together with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., it has co-developed an anomaly detection system for thermal power station facilities based on optical fiber multipoint temperature sensing technology developed by Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. This technology makes possible real-time temperature measurements of over 10,000 locations with one optical fiber. To confirm the effectiveness of this system, the two companies conducted a field trial at Tohoku Electric's Akita thermal power station, demonstrating that this system enables more refined real-time detection, as compared with anomaly detection based on existing discrete temperature sensors.

  • Fujitsu Raises Targets for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions through ICT Tokyo, Global, August 31, 2015 - The Fujitsu Group is disclosing the results of its efforts to achieve the targets of its Fujitsu Group Environmental Action Plan (Stage VII), formulated to cover the three years from fiscal 2013. Among Fujitsu's 17 target items under the plan, two, namely "Contribution to Society by ICT: Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions" and "Design and Deliver Eco-efficient Products," have achieved results equivalent to their fiscal 2015 year-end targets. Accordingly, Fujitsu has revised its targets upward. In addition, in the category of "Efficient Business Operations: Data Centers," Fujitsu has completed the building of a new PUE visualization tool, which it will use to expand upon its environmental performance improvement activities.

Although first-quarter projections were not publicly disclosed at the announcement of the full year results of fiscal 2014, the first-quarter results are in line with original expectations. Furthermore, the annual projections for fiscal 2015 remain unchanged.
