Fujitsu and Totech Amenity Launch File Delivery SaaS

Fujitsu Limited and Totech Amenity Limited today announced the launch of a file delivery Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that employs Fujitsu's on-demand trusted cloud service to enable users to easily send large-volume files in a secure environment, starting October 8, 2010.

Totech Amenity will also be launching a free six-month trial campaign for the SaaS solution from October 2010 until March 2011 that will allow more customers to utilize the file delivery service and enjoy the convenience it provides.

Background

With a 40-year track record since its establishment in the Nagoya City-area located in the central region of Japan, Totech Amenity has managed a broad range of outsourcing services that support customers' strategic ICT and technology needs. Totech Amenity supports the public sector and healthcare organizations, as well as private enterprises, including the manufacturing industry, by combining advanced technologies with the delivery of comprehensive solutions, ranging from consulting services to system development and system operations support.

In an effort to overcome the variety of challenges associated with sending file attachments via e-mail, including the risks of eavesdropping and mistakenly sent e-mails, as well as limitations on file size and the difficulty of managing saved sent messages, Totech Amenity pioneered the launch of easyFiLEX in 2004. easyFiLEX is a package that enables large-volume and highly-reliable file sending, and has been deployed at approximately 1,000 companies. In order to make easyFiLEX readily accessible to customers who, up until now, have been unable to deploy the service due to cost and operational concerns, Totech Amenity is offering the package as easyFiLEX Cloud, a new SaaS solution that leverages Fujitsu's on-demand Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)-based cloud service, On-Demand Virtual System Service.

• Enables large-volume files to be sent or received without burdening recipients using Fujitsu's on-demand IaaS.
• Utilizes SSL file encryption, thereby helping users to avoid the danger of eavesdropping when the files are sent or received over communication networks and servers.
• Provides users with a feature that allows the cancellation of file delivery at any time up until the recipient receives the message, as well as a restricted sending feature that requires a password upon delivery, which helps to prevent third-party information leaks in the remote chance that a file is mistakenly sent.

3. Simple operations and management

• Features enhanced internal controls that allow users on the departmental level to check operations logs, file transmission and receipt histories.
• Users can send files by simply dragging and dropping the intended file to a desktop icon, without having to open a web browser, thereby helping to significantly improve operational efficiency.
• By configuring e-mail templates in English, users can send files outside of Japan using the same highly-secure environment.

2. easyFiLEX Cloud 2 (exclusive type) - 2GB maximum transmission size for 1 file
   
   • Initial fee JPY 400,000 (excluding tax), starting from JPY 220,000 per month (excluding tax, disk size 100GB, unlimited number of users and transmissions)
