Fujitsu Improves PRIMERGY Portfolio System Naming for Easier Selection

Fujitsu CEMEA&I

Munich, марта 06, 2014

Fujitsu today announces a new system naming scheme for newly launched elements of its PRIMERGY server portfolio designed to make it easier for customers and partners to select the system that best suits their needs. An application for Android and Apple smartphones and tablets helps customers and partners to understand the new server naming structure and translate between the new and the old names, as existing systems will continue to be known by their previous names.

A customer’s first decision point is often the form factor, so the new naming keeps important brand elements like RX, for Rack Server or TX, for Tower Server. The numbers following the form factor refer to the number of sockets and the processor platform type. This leads to a system class, like PRIMERGY RX2500. The last two digits in the name refer to the feature set of the specific model. Finally, the generation suffix ‘M1’ rises incrementally with each new processor generation.

The first PRIMERGY systems to use the new naming scheme are the PRIMERGY RX2520 M1 and PRIMERGY TX2540 M1. Both new PRIMERGY systems offer vast storage expansion capabilities and affordable dual-processor performance based on Intel’s Xeon Processor E5-2400 v2 product family for essential business workloads or small virtualization environments.

Pricing and availability

The PRIMERGY RX2520 M1 completes Fujitsu’s rack server portfolio with an affordable dual-processor option. It is available now with immediate effect, sold directly and via Fujitsu Channel Partners. The silent tower server PRIMERGY TX2540 M1 for small to medium sized enterprises and branch offices is on the price list now, and will be generally available on April 14, 2014. Prices vary depending on configuration.
