Quantum computing and associated technologies are gradually gaining momentum, due to their remarkable potential to solve complex problems, traditionally unsolvable with conventional computing. Problems such as combinatorial optimization, quantum chemical calculations, machine learning, and prime factorization can be solved quickly using quantum computers across applications such as drug discovery, new materials discovery, delivery planning, traffic optimization, etc. The entire value chain of quantum computing across hardare, software and peripheral services has the potential to grow as much as conventional computers today.
From an economist's point of view, this seminar will introduce the impact of quantum computing on each industry, the forecast of business opportunities, and the significance of early efforts by companies.
