Advancing next-generation computing infrastructure and applying new technologies toward further innovation in our society
Contents of research
Gathering expert researchers from all the vertical computing fields, from hardware and architecture to applications including AI and HPC, at our research cluster and exploring ingenious future computing platforms by taking the following steps:
- Analyzing performance bottlenecks of practical applications such as fluid dynamics and large-scale complex AI workloads,
- Exploring the most powerful and cost-effective future computing infrastructure to achieve optimal performance based on the intensive performance analysis,
- Developing easy-to-use software stacks, including compiler and libraries, to fully utilize the new computing platform,
- Optimizing various applications on our future computing system.
Roles of both parties
Fujitsu Limited
Fujitsu has been developing various supercomputer systems and optimizing industrial applications on them. Based on these experiences, Fujitsu will evaluate and select state-of-the-art research results in academia and then explore how to apply these outputs to future high-performance computing infrastructure. Also, by using these technologies, Fujitsu will support innovations in various fields in our society.
Tokyo Institute of Technology
Tokyo Institute of Technology has been operating TSUBAME systems and also conducting various research on architecture, middleware, and applications. Utilizing this research, Tokyo Tech will propose how to enhance the performance and reduce the power of the future computing system. In addition, Tokyo Tech is working with various companies to accelerate social innovation. In conjunction with this effort, Tokyo Tech will also accelerate these social innovations using future computing systems with Fujitsu.
