Date of founding

October 6, 2023

Office location

Room S202, Systems Building, Graduate School of System Informatics, Kobe University

Research subject

Research and development of advanced computing technologies aimed at implementing a fast computational execution infrastructure in the field of computer-aided engineering (CAE) and materials informatics (MI).

Contents of research

Aiming to address insurmountable societal challenges and to generate innovation, this joint laboratory conducts research and development of the next-generation CAE & MI platform by integrating Fujitsu’s R&D capabilities and social implementation experience and Kobe University’s expertise in fluid dynamics and materials science.
In addition, it aims to provide services based on the next-generation FUJITSU-MONAKA processor on platforms such as Fujitsu's Computing as a Service (CaaS) and Fujitsu Kozuchi (code name) - Fujitsu AI Platform.

Roles of both parties

Fujitsu Limited

Fujitsu will verify and integrate the performance of fluid and material applications, develop service prototypes for the next-gen CAE & MI platform, evaluate system performance, and implement a high-speed computational infrastructure for societal CAE & MI applications.

Kobe University

Focusing on optimizing computing from an application perspective, Kobe University will be responsible for developing and enhancing AI algorithms and core technologies in the CAE & MI domain.
