Private AI, using information inside an organisation, is becoming increasingly important in establishing competitive advantage and supporting advanced decision-making. This technology opens up new possibilities for advanced use of AI in corporate activities, but the volume of the internal data in a single company is limited. Therefore, it is expected to create greater value by sharing data with multiple companies, but this entails the challenge of protecting trade secrets. This is where Data Spaces, decentralised data-sharing infrastructures based on data sovereignty, come into focus. This white paper outlines the concepts and technological developments required to realise decentralised private AI in data spaces, including our initiatives in collaboration with Fraunhofer ISST.

Fujitsu is pursuing the development of technologies to enable companies to utilise data and AI models safely in Data Spaces. We will also collaborate with universities and partners to conduct experiments and make proposals to relevant standardisation bodies.
