A series of vector computers introduced in 1988 as successors to the VP-100 series E model, with complete backward compatibility. The VP-100 series E model was an improved version of the VP-100 series. The VP-2600 from this series achieved a world-leading performance of 5 gigaFLOPS as a stand-alone CPU.
