This is the name of a globally-standardized brand of UNIX server, introduced in 2000 as a successor to the GP7000F series. At this time, the PRIMEPOWER200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, and 2000 were introduced, covering a range of performance 200 times larger than before. The highest-level PRIMEPOWER2000 model could be equipped with up to 128 SPARC64 GP CPUs.
