An ultra high-speed laser printer completed in 1981 which was compatible with the JEF Japanese-language information system. The spread of Japanese-language information systems led to increased demand for faster and higher-performance Japanese line printers, and this was a model developed to be the top model of its series, continuing from the low/medium-speed Japanese line printers FACOM6715D and 6716D. It was able to produce output at high speed of 14,100 lines per minute with a resolution of 240 dots per inch of high-quality printed text.
