A new type of computer known as a "minicomputer", introduced in 1969. In addition to its use as a small, high-performance computer serving as an independent computing system, it also excelled at real-time processing. It was utilized in measurement systems and testing equipment, and as a control unit for peripheral devices. It was an extremely compact, high-performance machine with a main memory capacity of 4K words (1 word = 16 bits), addition and subtraction speed of 6 µsec, and dimensions of 43 cm in width, 28 cm in height, and 59 cm in depth.
