  • Telephones

The telegraph and telephone facilities of Japan suffered heavy damage during World War II and were unable to fulfill most of their functions as Japan's nerve center for communication when the war ended. As the Communications Council focused all of its efforts on the restoration of communication facilities; and Fujitsu, which at the time was not yet designated as a telephone production company, was one of the companies to receive an inquiry for assistance. In December 1945, the Fuji Type 3 telephone was certified for the standard specifications of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and officially adopted, leading to Fujitsu's designation as a telephone production company. This allowed Fujitsu to contribute greatly to the post-war recovery of communication facilities.
