I am a secretary of an owners association (75 apartments and 135 car parking places) and other associations that deals with a lot of paperwork. I try to do this as much as possible electronically. All archiving is done by scanning to searchable PDF. So are all the annexes to e-mail messages. I used to use a flat screen scanner, which still works perfectly, to scan my documents to PDF. Since I bought the ScanSnap S1500 scanner, my work is done much faster and much easier with the complementary software. I even archive all our private documents now. Installation was a piece of cake and it takes much less space on my desk.
