Fujitsu is sharing its future mobility approach for the first time at Shift AUTOMOTIVE, IFA’s two-day convention on future mobility, taking place in Berlin, Germany on September 10-11. Fujitsu Future Mobility Accelerator brings together the latest technologies from Fujitsu’s portfolio of solutions to help co-create the future with its customers in the automotive and transportation sector. Fujitsu draws on a long-standing history in the automotive industry as a Tier 1 supplier of both electronic components and IT services for a rich ecosystem of automotive suppliers.
Real world-focused solutions include the reduction of vehicular emissions through real-time route optimization and the integration of biometric authentication services to identify and validate users. Fujitsu aims to inspire the ideation of sustainable solutions, with Connected Services to support next-generation mobility that can be applied to the movement of both people and goods.
Finding the most resource-efficient transportation mechanisms
With Future Mobility Accelerator, Fujitsu aims to help customers find the most resource-efficient transportation methods, helping to lower society’s overall consumption of limited resources without limiting mobility in urban environments. Leveraging its Human Centric Experience Design (HXD) methodology, Fujitsu puts customers and their end customers at the heart of the critical ideation phase, and ensures that everybody involved in the process is a co-designer of the overall concept.

For Shift AUTOMOTIVE in Berlin, Fujitsu has built an immersive, three-dimensional, future urban environment, enabling delegates to experience these solutions first-hand. One example is real-time route optimization for vehicles, which is out of reach of today’s traditional computers, especially on a large scale, but made possible with the Fujitsu Digital Annealer. This quantum computing-inspired approach can optimize routing in real time, taking into account not only current traffic congestion, but other variables such as weather conditions, time of day, as well as the holistic environmental impact of re-routing traffic through different urban areas.
