Empowering Societal Change

At Fujitsu, social value drives our mission to use technology for meaningful societal change. We've partnered with private and public sector organisations for years, embedding social value into our operations to enhance digital inclusion, sustainability, and community well-being. Our commitment ensures that technology enriches lives and fosters a brighter future for everyone.

At Fujitsu, we believe in harnessing the power of technology to create meaningful social value that enriches lives and drives progress. With a commitment to sustainability, diversity, and ethical business practices, we strive to make a positive difference in the world. Robot workshops

Fujitsu have provided IT services to Libraries NI since 2013 and are collaborating with Libraries NI to support their mission of fostering lifelong learning and inspiring curiosity by delivering robotic workshops as part of our social value commitments.

During these workshops young people have an opportunity to get hands-on experience. The Kobo robots for primary age students use a plug-and-play approach to follow tiles to accomplish a goal.

The MakeBlock (MBlock) robots are aimed at older students and designed to spark an interest in programming and technology.

Our service delivery team built and programmed the robots, documented best practices, and trained Libraries NI staff on how to connect the robots to mobile devices to ensure participants get the most out of each workshop. Informal one-hour robot workshops are held at library locations across Northern Ireland with technical support provided to by the Fujitsu team. We have received wonderful feedback from the initial sessions

Round up of charity activities

Over the last year Fujitsu has taken part in a range of many charity activities. From helping at the Soup Kitchen @AIC making sandwiches for the lunchtime service followed by walking the streets of London and handing them out to those in need. To participating in 5k walks, triathlons, bake sales, escape rooms and more to raise money for charity.

Over the Christmas period our employees did lots to aid different charities a few examples being the Toy Appeal in Cheshire, where we assisted in loading some of the 11,000 red sacks of toys onto trucks for distribution to children and teenagers across the Northwest of England. Fujitsu volunteers also donated lots of gifts to the Angel Tree Appeal for The Orchard Children’s Centre in Warrington.

Remembrance Sunday

Each year, November 11 marks Armistice Day, commemorating the agreement that ended the fighting of the First World War and paved the way for peace negotiations. At Fujitsu, our dedicated volunteers proudly supported this meaningful day by selling poppies at train stations across London for the Royal British Legion. This year, their remarkable efforts contributed an impressive £100,466.06 at London Waterloo station to the Legion's vital work, part of a phenomenal overall total of £1,285,000 raised.

We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers for their commitment to this important cause, helping to honour those who served and continue to serve. Their efforts make a lasting difference in supporting veterans and their families.

Fit for Life Youth (FFLY)

‘From Post-It Notes to Robots!
Fit For Life Youth (FFLY) is a London-based social enterprise that uses fitness classes and mentoring to empower young people. Keeping track of gym visits was a manual chore, which was time consuming and hard to manage. Fujitsu's automation team designed a bot to automate this process, saving FFLY valuable time and resources. This allows FFLY to focus on their mission of helping young people in the community.

Veteran Reset

The VTRN Reset programme supports veterans with mental health challenges and injuries. They offer retreats with mental health experts to help veterans readjust to civilian life. Fujitsu, a partner organisation, is helping VTRN Reset by identifying areas where process automation can improve their efficiency and free up resources to better support veterans. To achieve this, Fujitsu led a number of process digitisation and optimisation workshops to understand how VTRN Reset's current business model works and how Fujitsu's expertise and skills could be applied to transform the lives of retired veterans throughout the UK.
