From population growth to rising greenhouse gas emissions, society is facing a number of global issues that are significantly threatening the health of our planet and its inhabitants. The information and communications technology industry (ICT) itself is now estimated for being responsible for approximately 2% of the world’s total global emissions. Comparable to the total global aviation industry or the total annual emissions of New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia combined; this figure is not something we at Fujitsu can ignore.
As sustainability has become an increasingly pressing social issue, our vision is to create a prosperous, sustainable future, and we have made it our global mission to help create a “Human Centric Society”. To achieve our sustainability visions our goal across Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand is to play a pivotal role in driving down the impact of the ICT sector through ICT enabling technology and to help reduce - and ultimately reverse - the current share of emissions produced by the ICT sector. That is, to harness the power of ICT innovations and solutions to the benefit of society as a whole.
To ensure our goals and visions become reality we have adopted challenging internal sustainability targets and a comprehensive Sustainability Strategy that span all areas of our business operations.
Further, in conjunction with looking after our own backyard, supporting and adding value to our customers is a key component of our Sustainability Strategy. At our core is a deep understanding of sustainability issues and commitment to bring the best, most cost effective and innovative technology solutions to the market. So as part of our wider sustainability framework we have developed a rigorous client engagement strategy to positively influence the sustainability outcomes of our clients.
Our sustainability strategy is backed by a proven methodology, research and a host of tangible customer case studies to ensure we stay true to our goals and missions.
