Not just to communities, Fujitsu GDC Philippines also ensures that it gets to provide outstanding working conditions where its employees can thrive and deliver their work with purpose and up to its highest standard.

Outstanding Employer

After being certified as a Best Places to Work in the Philippines for 2022, Fujitsu GDC Philippines is now recognized as an Outstanding Employer. This category recognizes an organization’s notable efforts towards generating significant employment and providing excellent employee welfare programs for its employees. Fujitsu GDC Philippines highlighted their several team building and engagement programs that aim to promote harmonious relationship between its management and staff. The GDC is also recognized for the general safety measures and communications implemented in their offices, including return-to-office employee orientation for those who are working voluntary in the office, care kits for employees, and COVID-19 response measures.

Outstanding Environmental Performance

For the third time, GDC Philippines was awarded the Outstanding Environmental Performance Award for demonstrating sustained environmental management, and for implementing environmental projects/outreach programs. Fujitsu’s GDC in the Philippines has been certified to ISO 14001 – Environment Management since 2015 and has since implemented comprehensive plans to minimize the environmental impact of its operations. Notable environmental projects include partnering with government and non-governmental organizations to plant trees, clean-up drives, and outreach programs to inform, educate and facilitate involvement in environmental initiatives. Even with the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Fujitsu GDC Philippines continued to raise awareness and partnered with organizations to support environmental conservation efforts.

Outstanding Community Projects

Also, for the third time, GDC Philippines was recognized in the Outstanding Community Projects category for their social welfare programs that benefit the Filipino community. Outreach projects undertaken by Fujitsu’s GDC in the Philippines are mostly to the organization’s key focus area – education. In 2021, Fujitsu GDC Philippines continuously adapts to a virtual set-up in teaching and opening its doors for virtual work immersions for its partner schools, including an orphanage with youth centers across the country. Fujitsu created online immersion classes on the different facets of Japanese culture, classes on English proficiency and Microsoft Office applications.

Fujitsu GDC Philippines also partnered with schools to deliver technical training, mentoring, inspirational/career talks. This initiative is alongside its communications campaign, mentoring and immersive technology programs. GDC employees also taught other transferable work skills, including understanding Australian and Japanese culture, automation, HTML, Python, networks, and presentation skills. These formed part of its Women in Tech program focused on improving gender diversity and inclusion globally.

Furthermore, GDC Philippines also donated equipment, school supplies, and COVID-19 prevention tools to its partner schools to aid them in adapting to the new realities of learning amidst the pandemic.

Arlene Gregorio, Head of Fujitsu GDC in the Philippines, comments: “We are humbled and honored by this recognition by PEZA, not only for distinguishing our company’s efforts in making the world more sustainable by building trust in society through our environmental programs and outreach activities, but also for our employee programs and policies that always put our employees’ health and safety first more than anything. These awards encourage us to continuously improve our people practices for the benefit of our employees, customers, stakeholders, and communities.”
