Update Regarding Unauthorized Access to Project Information Sharing Tool

As previously announced, Fujitsu has established a company-wide organization under the direct supervision of the CEO to review unauthorized access to its project information sharing tool "ProjectWEB” and continues to implement measures as necessary to prevent recurrence and to strengthen its information security management.

Fujitsu cooperated with external organizations regarding this incident and is today offering an update on the latest findings.

In August 2021, Fujitsu reported that 129 customers in Japan experienced unauthorized access including viewing or downloads of portions of the information stored by the tool. Based on latest findings, it was discovered that the number of impacted customers in Japan has reached 142.

Fujitsu has reported about this incident to the affected customers individually and will continue to take all necessary measures.

Fujitsu would like to again express its sincere regret for the inconvenience and concern caused to all those impacted by this matter.

At present, the cause of this incident and Fujitsu’s response are additionally being verified by a committee comprised of external experts. Based on the results of the verification by the external committee, Fujitsu will summarize this matter at an appropriate time.
Fujitsu will further continue to verify its system environment under the lead of its dedicated CISO appointed last year and will offer updates in an appropriate manner.
