ScanSnap Celebrates 20 Years and Marks Shipment of 6 Million Units Globally

PFU (EMEA) Limited, today celebrates 20 years of the ScanSnap brand and reaching the six million devices shipped milestone. Launched in 2001, ScanSnap devices were designed to deliver a smarter way to work through simple and intuitive technology. The easy one-touch operation enables business and personal users to quickly digitise documents and improve their personal productivity.

The first model, the ScanSnap fi-411EOX was initially sold in July 2001, since then over 20 different devices have been developed, evolving from the ScanSnap SV600 overhead scanner, providing contactless image capture for books, magazines, and artwork, to the ultimate in personal productivity, ScanSnap iX1600.

To celebrate the last 20 years, ScanSnap has created a limited edition ScanSnap iX1600[1], with only 22 available in the world. The limited edition ScanSnap is made with the historic foil processing of 'Kanazawa leaf'. This unique method is a traditional Japanese craft developed over 450 years ago in the city of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, where the ScanSnap brand was founded. The specially designed foil covers are designed to represent the four seasons, reflecting ScanSnap’s commitment to provide regular ongoing support to customers as their needs change over time.

To mark 20 years of supporting users on their digital transformation journeys, PFU (EMEA) will be giving away a number of exclusive special edition ScanSnap iX1600 ‘Kanazawa’ models. The promotion offers customers a free* 12-month subscription for Adobe® Acrobat® Pro DC when you purchase the ScanSnap iX1400. For the month of July, exclusively via their eCommerce partners, the free* 12-month subscription for Adobe® Acrobat® Pro DC will be extended to the ScanSnap iX1600 also.
