  • Fujitsu Paves the Way to Exascale Computing With Powerful New NEXTGenIO Hardware Platform Munich, EMEIA, 13, August, 2019 - Fujitsu is pushing the boundaries of high performance computing (HPC) with a newly-developed hardware cluster that will increase the pace of scientific research and lead to better and faster understanding of complex systems, such as weather forecasts. The platform’s groundbreaking computing performance has been successfully validated at EPCC, the University of Edinburgh’s supercomputing center, and handed over by Fujitsu for release to operations. Fujitsu created the prototype in a close co-creation process with hardware and software vendors, universities and research institutes as part of the NEXTGenIO1 research and development project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program.

Ensuring compliance with mandatory medical classifications, Fujitsu’s new automatic medical coding solution extracts the annotations in typically less than 1 minute, compared to 15 minutes required for manual clinical note annotation. Unlike previous generation technologies, Fujitsu’s AI text mining technology combines semantic knowledge and Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Deep Learning in order to analyze medical notes and extract valuable data.

  • Fujitsu’s New Technologies Reduce the Cost of AI Solution Creation for Visual Inspection Applications London, EMEIA, 04, July, 2019 - At the annual Fujitsu Innovation Gathering today in London, Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe announces two new technologies that significantly reduce the cost of AI solution creation for visual inspection applications. The novel solution uses a new type of defect detector that is trained on normal (non-defective) data, reducing dataset creation costs as well as enabling the detection of previously unseen patterns. This is combined with an AI-accelerated Graphical User Interface (GUI) that facilitates rapid cluster labelling based on automatically identified regions of interest, creating high quality training datasets. The combined result is highly accurate, automatic, unsupervised defect detection (discovering 80-90% of regions of interest automatically) with 50–100x faster dataset training and labelling.

  • Rijkswaterstaat gunt ICT servicedesk aan Fujitsu Maarssen, Nederland, 26, June, 2019 - Rijkswaterstaat heeft de aanbesteding eerste- en tweedelijns support werkzaamheden kantoorautomatisering gegund aan Fujitsu. De ICT servicedesk, lokale ondersteuning en voorraadbeheer zijn de komende 3 jaar in handen van het Japanse IT-bedrijf. Het contract kan daarna 3 keer met een jaar verlengd worden. Fujitsu verzorgde de laatste vier jaar al de ICT Servicedesk van Rijkswaterstaat.

  • New ICT service desk contract for Fujitsu at Rijkswaterstaat Maarssen, Nederland, 26, June, 2019 - Rijkswaterstaat awarded the first and second-line support for office automation work to Fujitsu. The IT service desk, local support and inventory management will be in the hands of the Japanese IT company for the next 3 years. The contract can then be extended 3 times for one year. Fujitsu has been providing the Rijkswaterstaat IT Service Desk for the last four years.

Het Japanse IT-bedrijf gaat er de komende jaren voor zorgen dat de medewerkers en externe gebruikers van de RDW optimaal ondersteund worden. De contractperiode bedraagt 3 jaar, waarbij er een verlenging mogelijk is van nogmaals 3 jaar. Er is al een samenwerking op het gebied van werkplekbeheer.

  • 58 procent ambtenaren niet bekend met plannen werkgever om te verduurzamen Maarssen, Nederland, 17, April, 2019 - 58 procent van de ambtenaren is niet bekend met de plannen van zijn of haar organisatie om te verduurzamen. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van het ICT-bedrijf Fujitsu Nederland onder 557 ambtenaren. Opvallend is dat een derde denkt dat het hun organisaties niet lukt om een bijdrage te leveren aan de doelstelling van het klimaatakkoord om in 2030 49 procent minder uitstoot van broeikasgassen te produceren.
