Fujitsu Caribbean Named 2009 Cisco SMB/Commercial Partner of the Year for Caribbean and Latin America

Kingston, Jamaica, June 02, 2010

Fujitsu Caribbean is celebrating success at this year’s Cisco Partner Summit, which saw the company receive two awards; for the much coveted ‘SMB/Commercial Partner of the Year’ in both the CANSAC (Caribbean and South America) and LATAM (Latin America) regions. The latter was a first for Fujitsu Caribbean, having won the CANSAC region award consecutively since 2008 and Best Performance Reseller award since 2006.

Fujitsu Caribbean was named ‘SMB/Commercial Partner of the Year, 2009 – CANSAC and LATAM’ at the awards ceremony during Cisco’s 2010 Partner Summit held recently in San Francisco, California. Fujitsu received the award based on its sales performance of Cisco products (Commercial Segment = SMB/Mid-Market) during Cisco’s FY’09 (August 2008 to July 2009). Fujitsu was able to obtain this success primarily by achieving over 180% sales growth of Cisco Unified Communications Solutions. The award recognizes Fujitsu’s important place as a trusted advisor and innovator for Cisco’s solutions in the regions for which the award was won.

Commenting on the ‘SMB/Commercial Partner of the Year – CANSAC and LATAM’ award, Juan Carlos Lopez, Manager – Partner Organization – Cisco said “Cisco appreciates Fujitsu’s commitment and excellence in selling Cisco networking and unified communications solutions into the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Segment in the Caribbean and look forward to replicating this success across other Cisco technologies. Fujitsu´s best practices and effectiveness serving this relevant market segment have been the cornerstone for outstanding performance, not only growing the business but delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. All these factors made Fujitsu winner of the LATAM Commercial and SMB award”.

Mervyn Eyre, CEO of Fujitsu Caribbean, in receiving the award said: “We are extremely proud to have won this prestigious award consecutively for 2008 and 2009 and is testament to our focus in leveraging CISCO technologies in delivering value to our customers. This award undoubtedly gives us great recognition from Cisco and builds credibility in the marketplace, but it also demonstrates the level of commitment in performance and service level that Fujitsu Caribbean has consistently strived for. The latter award for the LATAM region is most significant for us as we had to compete with all of Cisco’s partners in the Caribbean, Central America and South America including countries such as Brazil and Mexico. We have formed close partnerships with our Cisco clients, working with them to understand their needs better and provide a differentiated customer experience. It is great to receive this recognition from Cisco and reinforces the great results that can be achieved when two best-of-breed partners work in partnership together on initiatives that focus on improving the customer’s investments in their IT”.

The awards, which recognize Cisco’s top global and regional partners on several categories such as Technology Excellence and Market Segments, are an important fixture in the annual Partner Summit. During the Global Awards Reception, Cisco recognizes the successes of its global partners and highlights some of the special achievements by its top performers. Each of Cisco’s theatres honours a top partner within its geographic region. In addition, partners are awarded for their outstanding performance.
