    • Report sources of pollution – Ports often use pipelines to transport oil and gas. If a leak occurs, GIS tools can be used to report the incident. Sensor data can be streamed to a map in real-time, or a user can map the incident manually from a mobile device.

This means that when certain conditions are met (e.g., a new data point is added), notifications are sent automatically to a list of users. So, when a leak or spill is reported, repair crews can be informed immediately with precise location data.
