With expertise covering the fields of cloud, intelligent automation, low-code and cybersecurity, among others, Fujitsu Luxembourg supports local and European companies in their digital transformation, with a particular focus on innovation and sustainability. Fujitsu has 125,000 employees worldwide, mainly in Japan, and some 200 employees working in Luxembourg.
Interview with Cédric Jadoul, managing director, Fujitsu Luxembourg.
What are your current projects?
First of all, it should be noted that Fujitsu Luxembourg has a wide portfolio of services, solutions and technological products, which allows it to support its customers in their digital transformation. We work on a holistic approach by providing solutions that help them on their journey to digitalization, at enterprise scale. This approach revolves around three main areas: artificial intelligence (AI), application modernization (updating tools and applications), and security (cybersecurity). For everything related to Artificial Intelligence, we work in stages with our customers, from the definition of their AI strategy, to identify, for example, the uses they make of it, to assistance in the implementation of the solution adapted to their daily uses, including workshops to demystify the subject. For application modernization, the principle is the same, it is a question of defining with customers the best possible experience with our specialized customer journey teams, to help their various businesses improve their performance and agility. Today, even if technologies are increasingly sophisticated, they must remain easy to use. All these axes are obviously linked to the essential issues of security and cybersecurity. With our approach, we can guide our clients end-to-end through this complexity, offering a comprehensive methodology to support them on the path to change and towards effective use of AI, securely by integrating their strategies.
What are your differences from the competition?
Our pragmatic consultative approach is a big differentiator. We project a strategic vision on the market, demystifying the issues related to new technologies and market issues. We are always on the lookout for the latest innovations, we participate in many events and trade fairs in order to capture the latest trends and solutions and we are very involved in European and international R&D projects. Secondly, our approach is human and tailor-made, even though we are a global player. We do not provide ready-made solutions and we have a certain technological independence, we can adapt to the needs of our customers and thus bring real added value.

The difficulties you encounter in your business?
The rapid evolution of new technologies requires us to have people trained in these subjects, to constantly adapt to market demands and to evolve quickly to implement the appropriate solutions. You have to constantly question yourself and not rest on your laurels. The talent shortage is a challenge we have to face. Today, we need to find rare pearls, Swiss Army knives who are no longer just specialized in a single field, but who understand the issues related to the many concomitant fields of AI, cybersecurity, etc. Reskilling is very important, because it allows you to follow market developments and remain competitive. The consulting dimension is also essential for us. The constant challenge is to convince our customers to adopt new tools and to support them in these changes. In addition, there are the cascades of regulations (NIS 2, AI Act, DORA, etc.) which have repercussions for our clients because everything must be constantly updated.
An essential for entrepreneurship?
The ability to always have a clear vision in the projects that one wishes to develop and to which others must adhere. Knowing how to surround yourself with the right people, who will in turn be able to infuse the teams with their motivation. Be persistent, don't give up on projects right away, which sometimes come too early, pause them and resume them at the right time.
A source of inspiration?
At each key stage of my life, personal or professional, a book, a biography of an inspiring person or an innovative working method, has given me solutions, paths to follow to move forward.
“The talent shortage is a challenge we have to face” [ Cédric Jadoul ]
The best way to spend 30 euros?
This is related to the previous question. Either buy a few books, or invite employees or customers to go for a few drinks in a place outside the workplace. Indeed, I think that we get a lot out of networking, meeting with our employees, our customers, the discussion that leads to emulation or bouncing off everyone's ideas.
In another life, you would have liked...?
Working in Formula 1. In addition to the sporting aspect, the R&D, technological and digital innovations and now the use of AI that are integrated into the entire engineering part of F1 are exciting!
