Tokyo, December 21, 2011 – Fujitsu today announced that it recently built Japan's first hybrid cloud platform that uses the Alliance Cloud, a standardized cloud model certified by the Global Alliance for User-driven Cloud Computing. This private cloud platform, which was built for the Daiwa Institute of Research, Ltd., began operations in November 2011. It enables hybrid private cloud operation, simultaneously, at multiple datacenters. Fujitsu hopes to deliver new services and solutions based on this platform for the needs of the diversifying hybrid cloud and expanding private cloud market.
Tokyo and Kakogawa City, Japan, December 20, 2011 – Fujitsu Limited and Kakogawa City Hospital Organization today announced the creation of a new HR and payroll administration system using IPKNOWLEDGE, Fujitsu's internal data consolidation solution for public sector institutions. Kakogawa City Hospital Organization is a local independent administrative institution formed through the merger of the former Kakogawa Municipal Hospital (a public hospital with 405 beds) and the former Shinko Kakogawa Hospital (a private hospital with 198 beds). The merger, through which the legal status of the merged entity was converted into an independent administrative institution, was designed to create an independently managed public hospital. IPKNOWLEDGE enabled the personnel data of the two hospitals to be consolidated within a time frame of six months to create a new HR and payroll administration system.

The new platform features a wide range of capabilities for protecting sensitive information—document encryption, printing restrictions, and audit trail management—in order to securely share highly sensitive information, including new drug development data, with offices and subsidiaries outside of Japan. Tokyo, June 27, 2011 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu FIP Corporation today announced that they have provided a cloud-based service system to support the ToKoPo point rewards service which will be offered by the Bureau of Transportation of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for Toei Transportation beginning August 1, 2011. ToKoPo enables passengers to earn points when they use Toei Transportation's public transportation services, with one point equaling one yen. Amounts in increments of ten points will then be credited to users' PASMO cards which are rechargeable smart cards that can be used in lieu of tickets on trains, subways, and buses, and can also be used to pay for goods in participating stores in metropolitan Tokyo and certain areas of Japan.
