Fujitsu’s new 2-inch thermal printer mechanism prints both receipts and linerless labels

Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today added a high-speed, 2-inch (58mm) thermal printer mechanism capable of handling 60-100µm-thick receipt and linerless label media, making it versatile for a range of applications.

Boasting a top print speed of 80mm/sec (640 dotlines/s) at 9VDC, the FTP-628MCL101#80/103#80 maximizes throughput in industrial, Point of Sale, ticketing, banking, test and measurement, and medical equipment applications. Print resolution is a crisp 203 dpi.

The mechanism features Fujitsu’s proprietary anti-stick platen roller and a removable platen to create an efficient, straight paper path for easy media loading and head maintenance. Its 50km head life ensures reliable, long-term service in a 0°C to +50°C operating temperature range (20 to 85% RH (no condensation)).

The FTP-628MCL101#80/103#80 has a compact 70.2mmD x 33.0mmW x 15.5mmH footprint and only weighs 40.2g, making it adaptable for a variety of equipment installations. Additionally, serial and USB interface boards, each measuring 67.2 x 32 mm, are available to support printing of alphanumeric KANA, international and special downloaded characters.
